‘The Toys That Made Us’ comes to Netflix

By Alex Wiggan

A new documentary series focusing on classic toy lines is heading to Netflix.

The docu-show, which takes a look at some of the most iconic toys of all-time, will make its streaming debut on Netflix on Friday 22nd December, just in time for Christmas. A number of toys will be featured across the course of the series, with a specific focus on eight different toy lines, including Lego, Transformers, Barbie, Star Wars, Star Trek, GI Joe, Hello Kitty and He-Man.

The show will include various interviews with key industry figures, including Roger Sweet, the Mattel designer who created the prototypes that became the Masters Of The Universe line; and Janice Varney-Hamlin who worked on a number of fashion dolls for Mattel (including Barbie). Peter Cullen, the voice of Optimus Prime in Transformers will also put in an appearance.

All episodes will be available on Netflix to binge in one go. Now, is this the best Christmas present or what?
