The Last Jedi passes the $1 billion mark

By Alex Wiggan

Well, it happened just in time for the New Year – Star Wars: The Last Jedi has clocked up more than $1 billion at the worldwide box office.

The new Star Wars movie reached the $1 billion mark yesterday, raking in $1,040,444,228, according to Box Office Mojo. This figure moves The Last Jedi into third place on the Top Ten highest grossing movies of 2017.

As discussed just a couple of days ago, The Last Jedi is currently on course to become the No.1 movie of 2017 – an achievement that should be reached very shortly. The film will open in China at the end of this week and this should make a considerable difference to the movie’s final total.
