Superman: On this day – December 26th

This year, iconic comic book character, Superman celebrates two titanic anniversaries. The first is the 40th anniversary of Superman: The Movie (1978) and the second is the 80th anniversary of the first appearance of Superman (1938). Both are HUGE events.

To commemorate this momentous occasion, the Honcho-SFX blog is presenting a different Superman fact a day!

Yep, 365 facts!

Taking the years 1938 through to 2018, each day the Honcho-SFX blog will serve up a little slice of Superman. So, that’s one fact about Superman or something inspired by Superman, each day, for an entire year covering eight decades of the Man of Steel.

And here’s today’s slice of Superman…

December 26th – On this day in 2005, Superman Escape opens to the public at Warner Bros. Movie World, Queensland, Australia. The ride costs $16 million dollars to produce and measures 40m (130ft) in height.
