Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle passes $800 million

By Alex Wiggan

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle has passed the $800 million mark.

The movie – which stars Dwayne Johnson – has now raked in $822.1 million and is still climbing. This figure places the movie in 9th position in the list of highest grossing films of 2017, which isn’t bad going for a film that hit cinemas during the last two weeks of the year.

Domestically, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle is also doing very well and is now Sony’s third highest grossing movie of all time, having surpassed Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) and Spider-Man 3 (2007) within the space of the last week. The film currently sits behind Spider-Man 2 (2004) and Spider-Man (2002).

As discussed last week, Jumanji’s success could lead to much bigger things to come…
