A first look at the Wonder Woman movie

By Alex Wiggan

Good news Wonder Woman fans: A very brief, but very exciting preview of the new Wonder Woman movie has been unveiled.

The footage – which can be seen below – was broadcast last night on US TV as part of a week-long focus on DC characters. Although the footage is brief, the scenes do give an indication of the tone and style of the forthcoming movie, which is set during the dark days of World War I.

Directed by Patty Jenkins and written by Jason Fuchs, Wonder Woman will star Gal Gadot in the title role, alongside Star Trek actor Chris Pine as Wondy’s love interest, Steve Trevor. Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, Danny Huston and David Thewlis also feature in the movie.

Upon release, Wonder Woman will become the fourth entry in the DC Cinematic Universe, following Man of Steel (2013), Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) and Suicide Squad (2016). The film is currently scheduled to hit cinemas in June 2017.

So that’s the preamble out of the way; now onto the footage itself.

Give the video a click and see what you think.

So what do you think? Are you excited to see a solo Wonder Woman movie? Are you happy that the film will have a World War I setting or would you have preferred to see a Wonder Woman movie take place in a different time altogether? Thoughts please, because sharing is caring.

About Alex Wiggan: Alex is more excited about a Wonder Woman movie than he is about Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. However, he hopes that both films turn out to be very good.
